Friday, April 26

The Plan:

Students will explore “Roman Civilization” focusing on daily life. They usually love learning about dress styles, soldiers, games, and of course gladiators too. Watch for a quick quiz on Friday.

Homeroom: Signed progress reports were due today.

Monday:

Students watched a short video and used two-column notes to help them learn about "Bread and Circuses" before beginning to create their Preview Page for chapter nine, Roman Civilization.  Students will be able to finish their preview page in class tomorrow.  We also updated our monthly calendars through the end of the school year.

Tuesday:
Students completed their Preview Page and set-up and color-coded their PQR2ST+ notes on Social Studies Notebook page 71.

Wednesday:
Students slowly worked through the textbook main heading "Roman Culture"  in class with a partner. We discussed the mental activities involved in reading and note taking periodically as we worked.

Thursday:
Students played "Who Am I?"  to help them learn the important people of Ancient Rome. Time will be provided in class tomorrow to finish our notes on the main heading "Daily Life".  Quiz and notebook check at the end of the class period tomorrow.

Friday:
Students completed their notebook work by choosing to either create a Venn diagram comparing Roman Social Classes or respond to #2, 4, and 5 Section Review Questions.  Chapter 9 notebook check and quiz finished up the class period.  Theses two assignments are posted on E-school, however I am still working on the Chapter 8 tests.  Thanks for your patience.
