Social Studies:
Students will use "The Nile Valley", textbook pages 38-46 to learn about the geography and development of ancient Egypt. They will compare and contrast Egypt with Mesopotamia and create a map of the Nile Valley to make sure they have enough background information to research "How did the Nile shape ancient Egypt?"
Homeroom: Thank you for contributing and working on the class pumpkin fundraiser. Mr. Russell our Character Education Community Representative will be here tomorrow to talk about responsibility.
What Is Happening:
Monday:
- two-column notes
- The Pyramids video
- Find-Someone-Who (to support good note-taking)
- review questions, open notes (SSn page 25)
Tuesday:
- discuss and correct "The Pyramid" comprehension review questions
- read "The Nile Valley", section 2.1
- used our Read, Remember, Scan, and Touch-up method to complete outline notes
- students should have notes complete when they come to class tomorrow
Wednesday:
- check and correct outline notes
- geography video clip
- Mesopotamia and Egypt Venn Diagram - due end of class Thursday10/31
- Ancient Egypt map - due Thursday, November 7th
- 2.1 Quiz Friday, October 25
