Plan:
Students will complete the PQR2ST+ notes for 8.4, “The Early Empire” and create a timeline to help us organize all the emperors. The quiz on Wednesday. A study guide including the following essay possibilities is provided in the classroom. The Rise of Rome test on Friday, April 19.
- How did geography affect where Rome was located?
- What reforms did Julius Caesar introduce in Rome? What effect did they have?
- Describe the development of the Council of Plebs.
- How did Augustus pave the way for 200 years of peace and prosperity?
Homeroom: The Silver Dollar City ticket form (green) and money are due Friday.
Students analyzed their returned 8.3 quiz and set new goals for the quiz on Wednesday. Fifteen class minutes were used to continue our PQR2ST+ notes. We then used this information to begin team timeline to help us analyze eleven Roman emperors. "The Early Empire" notes are due tomorrow.
Tuesday:
Students worked on their team timeline today. Emperor index cards are homework if they were not finished during class. Fifteen minutes will be provided tomorrow with their teams to secure index cards and complete timeline. We will finish processing "The Early Empire" before taking a quiz at the end of the class period.
Study Guides were provided both in class and during flextime.
Wednesday:
Students completed and presented their team timeline in class today. They also determined if statements about the early Roman Empire were true or false as preparation for the quiz. The guided reading T/F statements should be finished and brought back to class tomorrow.
Third Period is a little behind this week. They will take the quiz tomorrow. :)
Show Choir Students: Tomorrow in class we will create a graphic organizer on SSn page 66 to help use analyze the reasons Rome was so prosperous. The rest of the class period will be provided for students to review for the test using textbook pages 296-297.
