Social Studies:
We will spend the first part of the week Performance
Testing. The rest of the week we will continue to learn and use
nonfiction text features and begin investigating the tools historians use.
Homeroom: Don't forget to always bring a reading book to your classes.
What is Happening:
Monday: Students went to the computer lab today for Reading and Language Arts Performance testing.
Tuesday: Students went to the computer lab today for Reading and Language Arts Performance testing.
Wednesday: Students discussed and completed SSn page 9, a two-column chart of nonfiction text features and their purposes. We also began to complete the Textbook Brochure and informational piece teaching readers how the authors organize all the information in Journey Across Time: The Early Years.
Thursday: Students worked with a substitute today to complete their Textbook Brochure and began a textbook Scavenger Hunt to demonstrate they can use the text features well. We will review the material on Tuesday. Have a great Labor Day weekend!
