Social Studies:
Students
will learn our second Channel One note-taking strategy. We will
also analyze a current event about mummies from the News-Leader as an
introduction to the tools historians use to learn about the ancient
world. Watch planners for a notebook check towards the end of the week.

What is Happening:
Tuesday: Students learned how to use a two-column note-taking strategy with Channel One. (Second hour will complete this lesson tomorrow.) Students also completed our Textbook Brochure today and are working on their matching cover artwork. Social Studies Notebook check will be Thursday.
Wednesday: Students worked in their Social Studies Notebooks.
Thursday: Students used their Reference Atlases to create a key and the continents, oceans, and major lines of latitude. The students and I have agreed they will use six minutes of tomorrow's class to complete this review. Our notebook check was fabulous! We look forward to showing them off during Open House.
Friday: Students completed their World Map review and we began our journey into Unit 1: Early Civilizations. Have a great weekend!
